Homeland was set up as a
refuge for the songs of Mikael Carlsson in
Malmö, Sweden. Homeland is always Mikael
Carlsson and associates who tend to come and
go with the passage of time.
HOMELAND is the alias of Mikael Carlsson.
Mikael formed Homeland in 1998 in hometown
Malmö, Sweden, after been playing with local
indie rockers Ogden Flood. In 1999 Homeland
released the debut album Songs About Living
which was rereleased in 2004 by the
Australian record company Cumbersome. The
member line-up has changed ever since live
performing became natural but Mikael still

With "Sailor Song" Homeland makes it back to the
roots. Mikael, once a skateboarder and true to the scene,
was asked to contribute with a song to Sweden's perhaps
most prominent skateboard label, Semester, and their
latest promotional movie "Tur i Retur"
